Imagine soaring above endless skies with your friends, building a sky ship that’s equal parts home and battleship, and facing down colossal creatures that blot out the clouds. That’s the promise of Lost Skies, the ambitious new sandbox adventure from Bossa Games, launching into 1.0 on September 17th on Steam.
If the name sounds familiar, it should. Back in 2017, Bossa dropped Worlds Adrift, a daring MMO about sky-faring exploration and survival. While that project never reached a full release, it captured the imagination of thousands of players who dreamed of endless skies, grappling hooks, and floating islands. Now, Lost Skies arrives as its spiritual successor—rebuilt, refined, and ready to deliver on that vision.

Explore a World Above the Clouds
In Lost Skies, up to five friends can team up to uncover the mysteries of a fractured world. Ancient technology, forgotten civilizations, and hidden clues lie scattered across hundreds of floating islands, waiting to be discovered. Your ship isn’t just transportation—it’s your fully customizable and upgradeable base, built piece by piece from rare materials you salvage on your journey.
But exploration isn’t without danger. Towering, sky-shaking bosses known as the Seraph patrol the skies. These titanic creatures demand teamwork, strategy, and a little bit of bravery to take down.
A Grapple Hook So Good It’s Legendary

Bossa Games built its reputation on quirky, physics-driven experiences like Surgeon Simulator and I Am Fish. That DNA shines in Lost Skies, particularly with its grappling hook system. Players already call it one of the best grappling mechanics ever made—smooth, responsive, and ridiculously fun. Combine it with wingsuits and gliders, and you’ve got the freedom to swing, soar, and swoop through the skies like nowhere else.
From Worlds Adrift to Lost Skies

For Lead Game Designer Luke Williams, developing Lost Skies was about revisiting and reimagining what players loved most from Worlds Adrift:
“Lost Skies was such a unique opportunity for a designer—if you could go back and revisit themes and experiences, what would you do? So we really wanted to elevate the elements players loved, such as exploring hundreds of floating islands and building an entirely unique skyship… plus some huge sky-filling bosses thrown in for good measure.”
Over the past three years, the team has worked closely with their community, shaping Lost Skies into a game that’s built to last.
What’s New in 1.0?

The journey through Early Access has been busy. Here are just a few highlights the team is proud to bring into the 1.0 launch:
Island Creator: Players can design their own floating islands and share them with the world. Many of these handcrafted creations are already part of the skies you’ll explore.
Skyship Freedom: Build the ultimate home-among-the-clouds, whether you want a sleek fighter or a bulky fortress.
Play Your Way: Full keybinding lets you customize controls for climbing, grappling, gliding, and combat.
Content Galore: Expect new weapons, ship assets, naval boss battles, puzzles, map tables, better inventory systems, and more.
Polish & Stability: Years of bug fixes, quality-of-life updates, and player feedback have gone into ensuring Lost Skies feels smooth and stable from day one.
Assemble Your Crew

With all these upgrades, Lost Skies feels like more than a second chance—it’s a redemption arc for a world that players weren’t ready to let go of. And now, the wait is over.
Grab your grappling hook, call your friends, and build the ship of your dreams. Lost Skies launches September 17th on Steam.
🔥 Question for readers: Are you ready to take to the skies again—or for the first time? What’s the first thing you’re building: a sleek scout ship or a floating fortress?
