Amerime Wire Magazine: Nerdstorm 92

By Corey "Salty Truth" Floyd

I met him on TikTok of all places. He is a very funny guy, one of the first people I followed on the app. I found his energy delightful and engaging. Unlike certain huge steamers, he has a personality that should be highlighted. Today we're talking about his least favorite game and where his loyalty lies in the console wars.

ST: What was the first video game you remember from your childhood?

92: Realistically I think the first system I ever owned was an n64 my grandmother bought for me one Christmas. I believe she bought the super Mario 64 bundle and I remember playing that ALL the time! Never beat the game by the way. I only think I ever got 144 stars if I remember correctly and couldn’t figure out where to go from there. At that point, I just kept making new save files and played through the first few worlds over and over again.

ST: Damn! Have you ever played the older Mario games?

92: I did but the Mario64 was my first Mario game. Even though I’ve played the other games I hate to admit I’ve never beaten one 🤣

ST: That’s okay they are a lot harder than you would think. I grew up on Nintendo than sega so back then there was no save on a game. When did you decide to become a streamer?

92: I honestly “tried” streaming back in 2014. Wish I had taken it seriously because I could have been a lot further along now. I technically started again back in March of 2020 I believe but I didn’t realize or buckle down and get serious about it until June of last year around the time I found out that my wife, who was my fiancé at the time, was pregnant. At that point, I just knew that I didn’t want to work my regular job for the rest of my life where I’d end up spending 80% of my time because I work so much. I want to be able to be home with my family and never have to miss out on things. I guess you can take that back to my upbringing where my father missed out on stuff, which I don’t blame him for at all he did the best
